Transport Heritage NSW is set to operate a weekend of Blue Mountains Flyer heritage train experiences this weekend.
This operation will see historic steam locomotives 3265 and 3526 ‘double-head’ along the Blue Mountains Line, from Central to Mount Victoria and return.
The two locomotives will transfer to Sydney from the NSW Rail Museum in Thirlmere on Friday 10 May ahead of the weekend.
On Saturday 11 May and Sunday 12 May, the train will then make its way up the challenging grades of the Blue Mountains Line, where customers will alight at Katoomba for free time, or continue to Mount Victoria to connect with the Zig Zag Railway.
Below is the confirmed timetable for this weekend’s operations, as well as the transfer times from Thirlmere to Central. Transfer Times are indicative only – the train may run earlier or later depending on the wider rail network.
Those who intend to catch a glimpse of the trains as they make their way through the mountains, please remember to stand behind the yellow line at stations, and remain only in publicly accessible areas, clear of the rail corridor.
